Stefa

He began his artistic experience in 1997. In 2000 he studied sculpture at the atelier of the sculptress Alessandra Porfidia. In 2003 he won the first prize in a competition organised by the two Fine Arts Academies of Rome, obtaining a scholarship to enrol at the Academy on the sculpture course, that ended in 2009. In 2004 he exhibited one of his works at the International Art Fair in Toronto. During these years he carried on his artistic activity with stone and marble works.

In 2007 he met the artist Fabio Mauri. He then became his assistant. In June 2009 he exhibited his works in Rome at the Galleria Interno Ventidue Contemporary Art at Palazzo Taverna participating, in the collective exhibit Sursum Corda together with Alessio Deli, Piero Pizzi Cannella, Paola Gandolfi, Felice Levini, H.H. Lim, Oliviero Rainaldi, and Maurizio Savini. In 2010 he founded an art school “La piccola scuola delle arti” (The little school of arts), where various disciplines are carried out and where he himself teaches sculpture. In 2011 he developed the project “Suono Linea Forma senza materia” (Sound Line Shape without material), an installation that brings together music, poetry, video projections, dance and, of course, sculpture.

An element of strong artistic maturity has undoubtedly been the collaboration with the artist Fabio Mauri, during which he was involved in the realisation of his works. This experience led to a transformation of his own conception of art. Today, the foundation of his idea of art opens up to a search for non-human material, for the psychic, the non-visible of man, using a magnifying glass placed on the specific biology of the human body. Organic forms that explore the content of human thought.
